State College to Build 11 Story Dorm in Bozeman
The Montana State College dorm project aims for a $2.9 million, 11 story structure on campus, planned as the tallest in Bozeman and one of the state’s tallest. The State Board of Regents approved the plan and bids will open May 14 for construction contracts with Berg and Grabow of Bozeman the presenting architects.

Man Slays Wife Son And 3 In-Laws in Mount Vernon
Charles Hansen, 32, a former mental patient, used two handguns to kill his estranged wife Dolores 26 and son Arthur in their home and shot Jack Canosa 72, Mary Canosa 63, and James Canosa 17. Billings Man Die In Wyoming Highway Crash
Jack E. Kaufman of Billings Montana was killed when his car left Wyoming Highway 789 nine miles north of the Colorado border. Passenger Charles White of Craig Colorado escaped injury. Kaufman marked his 31st birthday the day of the crash and worked for an oil well firm. He is survived by his widow Shirley of Billings.

Man Linked to City of Butter Photo Charged With Impersonating Officer
John Francis Wallace 39 formerly used aliases including Maj. Charles Shaner and Sanger. He waived preliminary hearing on charges of impersonating an Air Force officer and cashing worthless checks. Wallace photographed with the obsoleted City of Butte fighter in a city park drew FBI interest. He allegedly used an Air Force major uniform to aid cashing checks in Helena and Bozeman. The case lists prior crimes and a 1961 forgery sentence. maximum penalty is $1000 fine and three years. He was arrested in a local hotel after deputy Walter Stocker recognized him from the news photo.

The National Labor Relations Board ordered a hearing in Washington to clarify union representation at Anaconda Co’s new Butte copper concentrate plant. The Seattle office will set the date for a Butte hearing. The company asked whether clock-winding watch men belong to Steelworkers Local 1 or Mine Mill, with both unions seeking inclusion of all workers at the concentrator.
