Voter turnout reaches 70.9 percent with 8 460 of 11 925 registered casting ballots despite snow. Micone fails to win any of the four other independent council bids while Peters ONeill loses Ward Five to Mary Maloney. Council canvass set for Wednesday.

Storm sweeps across state with snow and rain
A low pressure system moved across extreme southeastern Montana Monday bringing cooler air and precipitation. Dillon recorded five inches of snow by noon while Butte had two inches that melted by late afternoon.
