Butte extends permit deadline for East Ridge lift project
Backers of a cable transit from the east edge of Butte to Our Lady of the Rockies have chosen lift types and are drafting designs with Doppelmayr USA and Water & Environmental Technologies. The Butte-Silver Bow commissioners granted a two year extension to secure permits and finalize base site requirements while design reaches about 60 percent.

Tech professor to teach in Hungary under Fulbright program
Tenured Montana Tech professor and civil rights historian Chris Danielson was selected by the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board to teach U S history at the University of Pécs in Hungary. He will conduct research during his fall 2023 sabbatical and teach in spring 2024, after which he returns to Tech in fall 2024. He previously sought a Fulbright in Russia but that plan stalled amid U S Russia tensions.
