A Montana probe into 22 year old Larry Henricks shooting death continues as County Atty Mark Sullivan plans witness interviews and a possible inquest this week. Henricks, father of three, lived in Butte and was shot by Officer Michael Sullivan after a confrontation in the 200 block of North Montana. George Markovich, with Henricks, posted bond on DWI and resisting arrest. he faces April 9 court. Funeral for Henricks is Tuesday at Duggan Merrill Mortuary chapel.
A freighter and a tugboat pushing three oil barges collided on the Mississippi River near New Orleans, triggering a fiery explosion. Harbor police say 18 persons are believed missing as Coast Guard teams search for survivors.
A head on collision nine miles west of Livingston on U S 10 killed Miss Easton while driving east from Bozeman. Her car was struck by a westbound truck carrying 196 hogs spilling the load and killing 50 to 70 hogs. Truck driver Larry Fay and partner Tom Fay escaped uninjured. The death marked the 44th highway fatality in Montana for the year, matching last year’s toll on this date.
