Butte Robbery Suspect Sentenced to 10 Years
Frank E. Johnson, 21, pleaded guilty in district court to robbery and was sentenced by Judge John B. McClernan to 10 years in prison. The term runs concurrently with a previous 10 year sentence for another robbery, objected to as Johnson had been paroled in 1965. He admitted robbing Archie Hord at Hord’s Jewelry Store on Jan 27 and that $36 was the proceeds. Johnson had earlier shot at officers during the Jensen Drug Co. robbery and was jailed after arrest. He was once evaluated for mental fitness at Warm Springs.

Deputy auditor Mrs Darragh to succeed Sullivan in Butte
Margaret Darragh longtime deputy county auditor since 1961 was appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to replace Margaret Leary Sullivan whose funeral was held Tuesday. Darragh will serve until the November general election and plans to seek the Democratic nomination in the August 16 primary for the two year term. She is a lifelong Butte resident widow of George Darragh with children George Corinne Shea and son John studying for the priesthood in Denver.

Missoula Man and Widow Charged in Infant Death
A 22-year-old widow Constance K. Maurer and 23-year-old Bruce Bonaventure were charged with manslaughter in the death of Maurer’s 16 month old daughter Kimberly. Coroner's jury found the death occasioned by criminal negligence. The child was brought to St Patrick Hospital March 30 and died two days later. Bond set at 3000 each with preliminary hearing planned. Bonaventure reportedly came to Missoula to attend the University of Montana.
