Independent candidates swept School District No. 1 seats with Paul Fall Jr. and Thomas Connolly winning three-year terms and Thomas Dunstan taking the one-year post. Fall led with 5,081 votes, Connolly 4,897, Cromer 4,554, Morrison 4,638. Dunstan 4,917 over Riley 4,360. Four-mill elementary levy approved while one-mill adult education levy opposed. Board to be officially canvassed April 7 with new organization April 19 and first meeting April 21.
