A seven mill levy for elementary schools passed by 1 626 with 5 678 yes to 4 052 no, funding about 207 731 for next term. Trustees will total three United Party members versus four Independents. Canvass set for April 13. reorganization April 18.
More than 30 delegates gathered in Butte for the Montana State Conference of Painters and Allied Crafts two day meeting hosted by Butte Painters Local 720 led by president Jerry Carlson and secretary Ovide W Guay. Delegates will study 1964 objectives as local unions and conference affiliate with the Brotherhood of Painters Decorators and Payers of America.

Shea will present the Hall of Fame honor to Sales, a Montana mining veteran born 1876 at Storm Lake Iowa.
Rodney McLean and Olaf A. Billquist won trustee posts for the Anaconda School District 10 in a light turnout. McLean led with 1,402 votes, Billquist posted 1,255, followed by Mrs. William T. Sheehan 1,036 and John R. Mogus 9. Total voters 2,426 of 6,282 registered.
Deer Lodge voters approved a 6 percent mill levy for School District 1 in a landslide on Saturday. The elementary levy drew 227 yes votes to 68 no while a write-in bid for two trustee spots sparked controversy over eligibility. Dr. William Tooke appeared to win re election with 179 votes, with Jack Traverso as the other winner candidate. write ins included Helen Jovick and Jens Hansen.
In Philipsburg Granite district election the largest vote in the district history produced a seat change. L. W. Bowen retained a board position while Thomas F. Collins won a seat by 194 to 192 over John W. Hoehne. Earl Athearn also ran, securing 168 votes.
