Gascar Sentenced Five Years In Narcotics Case

His court appointed counsel indicated possible appeal while co defendant Marco Hernandez 32 is serving three years and Gascar's wife Nora La Forge 18 awaits trial in jail. Mary Cippolone 34 indicted for conspiracy and marijuana transfer is out on bond awaiting trial.

Anaconda Signs Pact With Chile Miners
The Anaconda Co. reached a labor contract with miners at its Chuquicamata copper operation in Chile. The pact provides a 40 percent wage increase and a 42 percent fringe-benefit rise, effective April 1, 1963, through June 30, 1964, averting a strike at the site. The agreement adds a 2 percent wage rise atop a 15 percent Chilean General wage increase granted last October, amid currency devaluation effects on real purchasing power.
