Reservations are being accepted for the Mining Association of Montana parley to be held July 20 to 31. C Pat Egan, manager of the Finlen hotel, will handle room applications. The meeting will feature a convention banquet with A B Martin of Butte as speaker and an entertainment committee including R C Sherman Austin Gatyan and Roy A McCready of Butte. The News Letter notes plans for the American Mining Congress Metal Mining exposition in Salt Lake City August 28 to 31 and lists officers and committees for the MAM and related groups.

Behind closed doors in Washington London and Paris Western powers have formed a peacetime plan for joint defense against a potential Russian advance. The North Atlantic pact unites the U S Canada Great Britain France Norway Denmark the Netherlands Belgium Luxembourg Iceland Portugal and Italy. Goering's Fancy Bathtub Found
Regensburg Germany April 1 U P German workers unearthed a silver plated bathtub once used by Hermann Goering from a treasure hoard valued at about 1 000 000 dollars found near Feldenstein Castle. The discovery by a U S Army commission also included six crates of gold Candle sticks and fine cognac among other art treasures. A former police official stated the treasure was buried in 1946 likely just before Goering's capture by Americans.
