Struck by Auto Leaves 13 Year Old Seriously Hurt
Arthur Vitalla, 13, of the Three Mile, is in St James hospital with a fractured thigh and shock after being struck and knocked down by a car on Dewey avenue near Kennedy street last evening. The vehicle was said to be driven by James Holland of the Tait hotel. He was taken to the hospital by W Willoughby of Sherman Reed company.

France to Pay National Tribute to Dead Envoy

New York April 1 The National City Bank merges with Farmers Loan and Trust creating a bank with about 2.06 billion in resources, the largest in the United States. The combined group keeps separate identities with Farmers Loan becoming City Bank Farmers Trust and National City taking over Farmers Loan’s commercial business. Farmers Loan stock rises to 1850 a share on the deal.

Helena April 1 A seven member state board of education approved establishing the North Montana agricultural and manual training school as part of the university system. Anaconda Copper Raises Butte Wages to Six Dollars a Day
The Anaconda Copper Mining Company announced a 25 cent daily wage increase effective April 1 1929 for all miners and plant workers in Butte Anaconda and Great Falls bringing underground pay to six dollars a day the highest in the metal mining world. The rise follows prior increases since October including a total $1.25 daily gain and affects daily and contract workers with proportional adjustments. payrolls exceed four tens of millions yearly in Montana and monthly wages surpass three million dollars in the district.

Tragedy in Granite Street Kitchen: Jealous Husband Kills Wife
