Washington reports a looming $7 billion deficit by June 30 with outlays for the third quarter below forecast. President Roosevelt says the treasury must borrow over $6 billion in new money before June 30, while recent issues total about $800 million and maturities near $1 billion are refunded.

Ontario Calif March 31 a 17 year old biology student Paul Wilson sought extra credit at Chaffey College by boiling a skunk carcass on the kitchen stove to obtain a skeleton. When his parents returned they found the house full of odor as they burned the youth's clothing and groceries and used disinfectants to try to quell the stink.
