Tragic Monroe Mill Manager Die after Lamp Shock
Mr E H Bivens manager of Monroe Ol Mill dies instantly last Wednesday night in front of his wife and three children when a street lamp chain delivers a fatal electric shock. The tragedy, witnessed by his family, stunned the community as neighbors aided but could not revive him. Bivens leaves a large family and is remembered as an honest, quiet, and devoted worker of the Methodist church. The exact mechanism of the shock remains uncertain, with theories centering on the lamp chain jerk triggering a high arc and isolator movement. He had just helped prepare the mill for the next day’s start and was returning home with his family when the fatal incident occurred.
