Woman's Club organizers outline aims for Monroe

A community-driven initiative led by Mrs. Gordon Finger in Monroe promotes a Woman's Club with departments in Literature, Music, Home Economics, Civic, and Social Service. Members pay dues, join one or more departments, and participate in programs, lectures, field trips, and quarterly social events while pursuing civic improvement and moral uplift.

Meeting of Union County Farmers Union at court house

The Union County division of the Farmers Union plans a Saturday meeting at the courthouse in Monroe on October 20 at 11 a.m. Delegates will be elected for the State Union gathering in Durham in November. Special committees will meet at 10 a.m. to discuss cooperative marketing, cotton seed exchange, road improvements, and a report outline. Mr T B DeLoach will lecture during the county session.
