Sidney Swain a white merchant from Mint street Charlotte was killed early Sunday as he left his store. A young man Charles E. Trull of Washington DC was arrested amid a flood of clues. Blood stained shoes, a large money bundle and room 95 at the Buford linked him. a local witness placed him near the scene and Coca Cola sales tied to the timeline. Barton, a witness, testified to Trull’s strange behavior and pleas to keep quiet as police closed in.
