Public Criminal Term Opens Under Judge Adams in Superior Court
A week long term of the Superior Court for criminal cases opened with Judge Adams presiding and Solicitor Stack prosecuting. The grand jury list includes Martin Snipes, Lathan, Smith, Baws, Godfrey, Moore, Blythe, Baucom, Helms, Broom, Hinfield, Griffin, Hill, Austin, Hugging, Williams, and others. Two murder cases loom. Dockery’s shooting of Frank Perry set for tomorrow with 75 veniremen summoned, and Nathaniel Gartis charged with killing WI Houston in May. The Christenberry assault case drew long testimony, ending with a guilty-in-pact verdict awaiting judgment. Other sentences included fines and suspended judgments for animal cruelty and improper conduct. several defendants to pay costs and bonds, with varying terms.
