Famine in Russia Worsens as Crops Fail
A letter to the Outlook from Russia warns the current famine is far worse than 1906 with grain and fodder losses. It says people began selling horses and cattle by September and survived on a harsh mixture of flour acorns bran weeds and tree bark powder. Illness and many deaths followed and the prime minister cites nineteen and a half million needing state aid. A remedy proposed is Dr. Mice Lamative Tablet.
