The Family Op Brooms From Virginia Pioneers to Union County
The Broom family tale follows John Broom who moved from Virginia to Union County between 1780 and 1785. It traces his descendants through marriages with Hargett Helms and others, listing many offspring and their unions, noting the Broom presence across Union County and their varied vocations, ending with a local appraisal that the Brooms are a sturdy, widespread clan in the area.
