Cromwell Steamer Crashes Through Wilmington Bridge
The British steamer Cromwell shifted to the Northeast River and while discharging near Wilmington collided with a drawbridge belonging to the Atlantic Coast Line and Seaboard Air Line, tearing end of a span and blocking rail traffic. Damage to the bridge is about $2,000 and it will take two weeks to repair. The ship remained unharmed though the incident cut off south and west rail service except by ferry transfer. A separate column notes public notices and land sale announcements including parcels in Union County to be sold February 9 1934.
