Monroe boy killed in Charlotte hunting accident
Henry Polk aged about seven or eight was accidentally shot and killed by his playmate Albert Shuman while walking along a creek between Belmont and North Charlotte. The boys were near the bank when the gun exploded striking Polk in the right shoulder and arm, causing instant death. Funeral services were held at the residence with Rev. J. D. Carroll officiating. Interment followed at Oak Lawn cemetery.
