Evans dies at 82 in Hornsboro after long illness
William Augustus Evans, about 82, died at his Hornsboro home Sunday around 2:30 a.m. He long served Chesterfield County in the South Carolina General Assembly and was a veteran private in the war, later a Mt. Moriah Mason. Survived by Mrs. Willie Poole’s daughter, the funeral was held Monday with Masonic honors in Chesterfield.

Mrs. Woodrow Wilson died at the White House at five yesterday afternoon after a months long illness from Bright's disease with complication. President Wilson, deeply moved, oversaw his daughters at her bedside as doctors and staff attended. Congress adjourned upon news of the death.
