Pennsylvania Places Fish in Conowingo Pool
State Conservation Commissioner Swepson Earle reported that the Pennsylvania Fisheries Commission placed over 15 million pike perch in the Conowingo pool's Pennsylvania section. Maryland added more than 10 million perch and 30 thousand smallmouth bass in its portion, expanding a planned vast Atlantic Coast fishing area.

Rural Women to Get Short Course Honors Master Farm Homemaker
Two Maryland rural women will be named Master Farm Homemakers at a June 21 ceremony at the University of Maryland during the Rural Women's Short Course. The honor, supported by the Farmer's Wife magazine and state extension services, marks the first time such recognition is given in Maryland. The event runs June 18 to 21 and includes 59 certificates for women attending sessions over four years. Cecil County's Mrs. Robert P. Mathias will receive hers from Dr. R. A. Pearson.

Two windows donated by Miss Lillie Tuite in memory of her mother Mrs Mary Elizabeth Tuite and her brother in law Brigadier General Andrew Wallace Evans. A window honors Alfred Wetherill gifted by the Misses Young. The remaining two honor former Mayor William H Mackall and his father Dr R C Mackall, donated by Mrs Helen Mackall of Bikton.

A Vacation Bible Study festival is set for Tuesday evening June 26 in Rising Sun. Bay View Ladies Aid hosts a festival on Saturday evening June 16 at Bay View M P Church. A Ford roadster donated by Rising Sun Baseball Club will be raffled Saturday June 16 on the Reed and Tosh lot on Pearl street. The Community Fire Company Band will play that evening.

The American Legion Ambulance Service reported eight trips in the week of June 4 to 10 with two calls on Wednesday and three on Thursday. Communities served included Middletown Elk Neck Elk Mills Elkton Calvert and Newark. Cumulative totals show eight trips that week, 150 total miles, averaging 19 miles per trip, and 485 trips year to date with average 32.3 miles per trip and 15 701 total miles.
