Yarnall at the Laughlin home in Nottingham. bridal party included Nora Laughlin as maid of honor and Augustus Yarnall as best man.
Colora Council No 64 Jr O U A M announces its officers for the term with Ernest Preston as Councilor and Charles Kincaid as Past Councilor. In a separate transaction, C O Hill sold the Gardener farm of 209 1/2 acres near Cecil Paper Mill to Walter S Farley of Swarthmore, now occupied by Harry A Pitt.
A gathering of third and fourth grade teachers from Elkton North East Chesapeake City and Perryville met at Howard Street School Elkton on Friday afternoon February 9. A feature was Hannah Hartnett Elkton’s report on a Baltimore county model school visit. Further visits are planned by the Primary Supervisor. Rural district teachers from the Sixth Seventh and Eighth districts met at Washington Hall Port Deposit on Friday afternoon February 16 and were addressed by John E Edwards former Allegany County Superintendent now Tome Institute Assistant Director.
James M. Cassel of Fallston sold 19 steers after 80 days feeding to a local dealer for 100 cents a pound on the hoof. The cattle averaged a 172 pound gain per head, yielding a total profit of 850 dollars. Selling weights ranged from 1200 to 1600 pounds with corn, cotton seed meal and silage as feed.
Rev W A Crawford Frost rector of St Marys P E Church Emmerton Harford county receives from President Mistal the gold medal of the Societe Academique dHistoire Internationale for unique service to civilization. France has honored him twice in three years, previously for his wartime Astronomical Society election and Uranus discoveries.

Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Schulte and Mrs. John Fierce.
John Brown, a well known Cecil county resident, died at his home in Cowentown Friday morning in his 90th year. He leaves a widow, a daughter Mrs. David T. Devlin of Cherry Hill, and three sons. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon with interment in Cherry Hill cemetery.
The only child of Mr and Mrs Rufus G Jackson of Woodlawn died Wednesday afternoon February 14 after five weeks illness of intestinal grippe aged two and a half. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev I S Whitaker and Rev F H Huffman with interment at Hopewell M E cemetery.
Verron Brown buys 90 acre Anderson farm near Calvert for 4675 dollars. Walter W. Hess as executor sells 70 acres in Little Britain to J. G. Hess of Philadelphia for 3000 dollars. Mrs Martha A. Snyder sells dwelling on Broad street Oxford Pa to Mrs Ernest Kirk, sale by W K Bird Harrisville.
Myer Beck, 12 year old son of Dover junk dealer William Beck, died in a Bridgeville fire that destroyed William Keller’s stable and outbuildings. He woke the sleeping horses, returned to release them, and was believed to be overcome by smoke and crushed as the roof collapsed. Two horses perished and one escaped.
The New Castle Presbyterial convention of the missionary societies of the New Castle Presbytery will be hosted in Newark Delaware by the Congregation’s ladies. It will take place Wednesday and Thursday April 11 and 12 with 75 to 90 delegates expected. The Presbytery covers all Delaware churches and the Eastern Shore Maryland churches.
Lewis E. Martindale recovers mobility to handle his market route after a broken ankle. J. J. Hanna’s son returns from Baltimore hospital following a successful operation. Grandmother Clendenin, mother of Frank and Edwin Clendenin, suffers a stroke Sunday and remains in serious condition. Eli Coulson Jr and sisters S E Riley and R F P Pierce show old relics from their grandparents Eli and Jane Coulson including a 1750 bureau a blue pitcher and 100 year old plates.
Benjamin F Warden died Monday January 19 at Drumpelier Hospital Coatesville Pa from pneumonia after a week of illness He aged 61 son of the late George and Mary Jane Warden born at Penn Hill long resident of Fremont and employed at Worth Bros steel mills He is survived by one son two sisters and a brother Funeral and burial details note services at 7 30 pm February 22 at his Coatesville home and February 23 in Rising Sun with burial at Brookview cemetery
John McCauley aged 38 died after falling forty five feet from a roof girder at Lukens Steel Co mill construction in Coatesville Pennsylvania. An accidental death verdict was returned by a coroner’s jury. Survived by wife mother and several siblings. Body taken to Cherry Hill Maryland for services and burial.

The Orphans' Court of Cecil County convened on February 13 and 14 with Judges McCauley Sentman and Jackson present. Bonds approved for administrators and executrices. accounts filed and distributions set. court adjourned to resume March 13.
County Commissioners met on February 13 with members J Frank Blake J Turner Cameron and William R Cameron approving minutes and bills. They appointed James F Evans and Joshua Clayton to codify Cecil County Public Local Laws for the next Legislature and set February 26 27 28 to revise personal property assessments adjourned to that schedule.
The Board of Education met on February 13 with Pogue and Alls present. Minutes were read and approved while bills were ordered paid. Fire escape bids for the old Elkton Academy were opened and kept for review. Letters regarding a William Penn tablet at Calvert High and a Cecilius Calvert portrait penny collection were read. no action was taken.
On a Saturday night 17th a 60 strong force arrived at the Charlestown parsonage in a cheerful visit. They brought gifts to aid the home and shared a festive meal as the young and old played games. The charge reports 44 conversions this year and strong church growth under Pastor W. B. Horner.
