The Cecil County Board of Commissioners announces a pension program funded by a $10,000 local levy and $20,000 state supplement. Pensions range from $15 to $30 per month based on applicant conditions. Many cases have been investigated and approved, with others still under inquiry.
Hundreds of wild ducks are found dead along the Susquehanna flats near Aberdeen Proving Ground likely from phosphorus poisoning. The deaths resemble a 10 year old incident when phosphorus pellets caused duck kills. later mitigated by mud dumping by the War Department. Leo F. Moore of Havre de Grace seeks aid from state and federal agencies.
Delaware officials report early steps to establish a race track in New Castle county. A group from Wilmington and Delaware aims to locate on two 450 acre farms between the Pennsylvan ia and Baltimore and Ohio Railroads southwest of Stanton. They seek a charter for the Delaware Steeplechase and Race Association Inc. The site would accommodate a large track with stands and stables and include space for other events when racing is not active.
Louis J. Kolb was elected commodore of the Wellwood Country and Yacht Club in Charlestown. Walter A. Schauffer was reelected president and Charles P. Light of Washington secretary. Honorary members include Edward T. Stotesbury Francis Shunk Brown Sr Senator David L Walsh Senator Millard E Tydings Albert C Ritchie Alfred E. Smith and Mayor J Hampton Moore. Twin boys arrived Friday the 13th year old Mrs George T. Culley 36 of North Hast to bring her total children to thirteen with seven living. It is the couple's second set of twins. the first set died at birth.

Officer Jesse M. Bradley arrested Banner McNeill of Peach Bottom for DUI reckless driving driving without owner permission and without license. McNeill fined 139 and jailed 90 days. Russell Tomkinson of Sylmar faced a tag issue charge with hearing postponed. William T. Fralin of Rising Sun fined 101 and costs and appealed, held on bond.
John Spike Reed pleaded guilty before Police Magistrate Walter C. Miller after petty thefts in western Elkton. He was charged with larceny of two large boxes of fireworks from Triumph Fusee and Fireworks Company and sentenced to one year in Maryland House of Correction.
Ruth Biddle of Newark Del sustained forehead and knee lacerations when the car driven by Rachel Boyd of Rising Sun Md struck a rear vehicle driven by Robert Goodrich of 1315 Washington St Wilmington on State Highway near Farnhurst. Miss Boyd received a tongue laceration requiring three stitches and facial injuries. Both women were treated at Delaware Hospital.

Jimmie Jones, 23, found guilty of assault on Rawson Jones of Elkton by a circuit court jury. He received eighteen months at Maryland Penitentiary after escaping jail twice and having just finished a four year robbery sentence. The robber charge was not pressed and he was warned by Judge Keating to avoid further trouble.
Miss Essie Todd 18 of Elk Mills suffered a possible skull fracture and a compound fracture of the left arm after being hit Monday night on South Market street Causeway Wilmington by a car driven by W Hubert Lynch of 806 North Adams. She was taken to Wilmington General Hospital where her condition was reported fair and she went to join her father who parked on the opposite curb.
Glenn Howell Charles Simpson and Stumm y Charles Bedwell, all local youths, were arrested and jailed after breaking into the John M Sent man Company warehouse on Bridge Street Elkton and stealing about 50 dollars of beer and wine. The stolen goods were recovered.
H Winfield Lewis of Elkton former circuit clerk files suit in Circuit Court against John W McCool state librarian over injuries from a September automobile crash near Perryville McCool also hurt in the same wreck.
John Ward Alderson, of Cecilion, was severely burned on the face and hands while rekindling a fire with coal oil. An oil can exploded spreading flames through the room before neighbors extinguished them. The burns were treated by a physician.
Lower Delaware highway officers target hitchhiking to stop the practice. They arrest violators and bring them before magistrates who impose fines or prison terms.
The Christmas Entertainment of the M. E. Sunday School will be held Sunday night December 22 at 7 30 in connection with a Christmas Picture and a program of Christmas music by the choir. White Gift offerings for the needy will be received. The Sunday School will receive their usual treat at this time.

Mayor and Mrs. Howard Jackson and others were guests of Dr. and Mrs. Ernest Rowland in Liberty Grove. Laura B Gill engages Townsend P Cox. Cecil county attendees at Hi Y Convention in Frederick include W G Jack Jr Otis Hanna and M L Patterson. Henry N Byers and Mildred Dorothy Byers wed Joseph G Beasten of Wilmington. Miss Jean Everett and Richard Redman announce marriage. Redman works for A G P Dredging Company.
Announcement reveals the marriage of Florence Mac Arthur, daughter of Mrs. William Story Jr., to Lewis Marshall Haines on Saturday, November 30 in Salt Lake City. They will reside at 223 W 20th Street in Long Beach after December 15.
Miss Catherine Wylie Hopkins daughter of Mr and Mrs J Thomas C Hopkins Jr of Port Deposit recently graduated from Union Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Baltimore has been appointed to the nursing staff of the Rockefeller Institute of Medical Research in New York City

The Cecil County Hunt Club will stage a fox hunt on December 26 at the Joseph Ayers farm near Farmington. The event starts at 9:00 a.m. Each member may start once only, and if weather is stormy it will be moved to the next clear day.
The Circuit Court jury in Elkton returned a verdict for Ellen D. Booth of Elkton against Paul Arbor for 1925 to 1935 rent totaling 1758.50. The case stems from unpaid money rent on a farm with Booth as plaintiff.
The Republican National Committee selects Cleveland Ohio as the site for the next G O P national convention on June 9 1936 to nominate presidential and vice presidential candidates for the November election.

Sara Scott of Toughkenamon Pa won 2250 in a lawsuit against Mary J Barnes of West Grove over injuries from a February 26 car crash. Scott testified she rode in Barnes’s car when it collided with Harold Thompson’s vehicle in Embreeville. Scott broke her leg and needed help collecting taxes.
The Public Work Fund assigns 275410 to Maryland for repairing and reconditioning library and school books. Cecil's share is 10272, and when available will provide work to about twenty persons.
Lancaster County buyer N D Alexander purchased the 164 acre farm of the late Judge John M Groff in Fulton Township at public sale for 5250 dollars. The property lies on the road from Wakefield to Pleasant.
Charles E. Bryan of Mt. Pleasant Orchards near Havre de Grace has been named by Governor Nice as one of twelve to serve on Maryland's State Relief Survey Committee. The panel will study unemployment policy before the General Assembly's special session convenes.
Harry Jones of Perryville was sentenced in Cecil Circuit Court to five years in the Maryland Penitentiary for his role in the hold up of an attendant at the Pink Elephant roadhouse near Perryville. Kendall Hill was convicted of the murder and robbery of Baltimore driver David Unger but later exonerated Jones on the murder charge. The robbery netted $20, and the pair were arrested after a police confrontation. Hill confessed to the taxi driver’s murder but said Jones joined after the crime.
Seven defendants pled guilty to operating unregistered stills and received prison terms from Judge William C. Coleman. Louis S. Barber drew two years in Lewisburg, admitting a Cecil county operation. Cleveland Casy and others faced sentences ranging from six to eighteen months in federal facilities in Kentucky Ohio and Maryland. Benjamin Steward, Julia Smith each got fifteen months, and Joseph Spry received six months.
Albert T. Stevens 47, alias Alexander T. Stedman of Baltimore, was convicted in Elkton Circuit Court of bigamy and sentenced to four years. He wed widow Lillian E. Allison in Elkton after presenting himself as single, while his wife Florence Stedman was alive. His addresses were given as 2901 Walbrook Avenue and 339 Hamilton Terrace. His two wives testified in the case.
H Max Dinsmore and William G Reynolds with Buck Elliott and Stephen Groff of this town returned last week from Potter County Pennsylvania with two deer. One animal was a 12 point buck weighing 205 pounds.
John Lawrence of near Skiles Mill Chester county was away at Barnsley when two men he employed on his farm stole his automobile his clothes and 60 dollars in cash and fled to parts unknown.
The farm of the late Edward E. Dawson consisting of 144% acres with improvements near Rock Springs was sold at Elkton public sale to Jacob Steele of Elkton for $2450.
Elkton constable Clayton Ellison of Cecil County tendered his resignation after cuffing Ghaffar Khan Djalal Persian minister to the United States during a speeding arrest in Elkton three weeks ago. State Department reported. Djalal demanded punishment. Town Officer Jacob Biddle, who made the arrest, has been off duty and is believed dropped.
