Vermilion Parish Police Jury Meets in Abbeville May 8 1905

Vermilion parish Police Jury met in regular session at Abbeville on May 8 1905 with President E M Stebbins and members Dupre Le Blanc Thibodeaux Andrus Hoffpavi Greene Mestepay and Foutz present. Minutes from April were read and a mayor of road projects and freeholder juries were approved. Reports covered road drainage disputes land damages and bridge work along with finance committee accounts and parish treasurer balance. Auberville bridge investigations and drainage measures in the Sixth Ward were discussed along with tax subdivision and new drainage commissioners appointment for the Eighth Ward.

Beforehand a four day State encampment of the Baptist Young People's Union runs June 20 to 25 on the camp ground. Railroads offer a one way rate for round trip.
