Lake Charles and Rice Belt Railway charter filed

The Lake Charles and Rice Belt Railway Incorporated filed its charter in Lake Charles. The project covers a 35 mile route from Ton Air to Gueydan Vermilion parish with surveys showing an all air line toward Gueydan and Abbeville. Promoters bank on local wealth and outside capital to build a cheap line joining Lake Charles to rice country, easing transport of fuel machinery and crops.
