A Box Supper and dance at Bad Nation Day School on May 16 to defray Decoration Day expenses. A big feast will be held on Decoration Day for all, with the Mission Band from St. Francis expected. Ladies bring well filled boxes to the social on the 16th.
A. J. Krieger and wife hosted a Saturday evening gathering at their Butte Valley home for Miss May E. Cordes who recently completed a successful term of school in the Chilton district. About twenty or thirty guests danced played old fashioned games and enjoyed refreshments of sandwiches cake pies and coffee. Departure occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Nelson Linkier Cattle Co closed a deal to acquire the Wood Garage with possession taken Tuesday morning. New owners plan renovations including enlarging the building and adding modern shop equipment. Albert Stenner of Wisconsin will run the repair department, F. T. Sinkler becomes manager, and M. L. Stinson contemplates new plans after selling. Local residents reflect on Decoration Day observances and memorial services for Mellette county’s fallen.
Delayed mail from White River increases the club to thirty one members with representation from every county section. Girls entrants join under state college rules. Seed supply for Rosebud No 13 is limited, with 20 contestants to receive half an acre each, and one seed allocation per family.
