Notice of Final Examination for Seventh and Eighth Grade

McMasters Vetoes Railroad Bond Bill

Governor McMasters vetoed several bills from the recent session including House Bill No 283 the Railroad Aid Bond Law passed by ten to one. The law aimed to fund a regional railroad with aid from railroad hands but the veto ends that hope. Grounds for the veto were not learned.

Literary Program At Wood School House Friday Evening

The program lists acts from intermediate and primary grades with Beulah Krieger Ruth Weed and Hallis Galbraith among participants. The high school features recitations and a debate on whether country life is happier than town life with a panel including Ed Sinkler and Raymond Sawyer.

Wood Community Development Association formed in Rozebud region

A meeting in Wood organized the Wood Community Development Association with G. W Sawyer as president J H Bundy vice president Fred C Kirebh secretary and Frank S Richardson treasurer A plan to organize remaining eastern townships into civil ones was set plus a committee to discuss extending the Northwestern railroad from Winner The group planned a Dollar Day sale in Wood and forming a constitution and bylaws with a next meeting at the schoolhouse and a social lunch assured to follow.

A groundhog emerged from its burrow on February 20 this year and saw its shadow. It returned to hibernation for about six more weeks, suggesting a longer cold season ahead due to weather conditions.
