Woolstencrofts Leave for California on Long Overland Trip

Indians Sentenced for Forgery at Cacoma
Ernest Thin Elk and Charles Yellow Eyes from near White River pled guilty to forging checks totaling 107 dollars. Judge Bartine ordered one year in the state penitentiary at Sioux Falls. Sheriff Baum and States Attorney Hutchinson accompanied them to the penitentiary, then returned home Sunday.

Boy and man die from high line injuries in Rosebud
In Colome South Dakota on July 6 electric high power lines caused two deaths in the Rosebud area. Riley St. Clair eleven year old son of Lee St. Clair was electrocuted after touching a stray wire four feet from the ground. He lived near Colome with his parents three brothers and three sisters. Funeral details were incomplete.

Mrs Alice Kriehn and Mr Harold Oldham were married at Paxton Nebraska on June 28. They reside at the bride's home in Sutherland and plan to live in Winner at the corner of Lamro and 4th streets in the former Sheehan house. Both are well known in Wood with the bride once serving as assistant postmistress and Oldham a leading Mellette County landowner.

Fairfax Bank Closes Doors in Gregory County
Fairfax South Dakota July 9 The Gregory County State Bank of Fairfax failed to open its doors this morning. Depleted reserves are cited as the cause. The bank has a capital stock of 50000 and deposits near 600000. Assets include a 60000 bank building and are said to be about the value of the deposits.

Farmer Pravecek electrocuted by downed line near Winner
Pravecek, a 50 year old farmer living five miles southeast of Winner, was found dead in a field after his son spotted him beneath a live electric line. A coroner's jury ruled death from contact with the live wire. the line lay within eight feet of the ground. Survived by a wife and five children, funeral services were planned for Friday at the Catholic church in Winner.
