The grain harvest starts early as several rye fields are ready for the binder. A number of binders have begun work in the county and by next week harvest should be fairly general in the area. Dry hot weather hastens the opening of the sma bnk grain.
Superintendent Buntia of the Rose bud Agency will visit Wood on Saturday to make a per capita payment of 8517 to the JnPans of this District. The payment, though modest, will circulate several thousand dollars locally and give the Pidtians some ready spending money for the Fourth. No definite date is known for the next large payment.
Circuit judge adjourned March term convened at White River. First State Bank of Wood seeks about $1,000 from Martin and Caroline Anderson with a jury empaneled and witnesses examined. Trial expected to run into midweek. State's attorney Kell may retry Narcesse Morin and John Yellow Wolf on grand larceny, previously hung juries.
