Dry hole halts water well at 105 feet

A jet rear well drilled by Mr. Beach yielded soft water at 45 feet but insufficient quantity. The hole was sunk to 105 feet with no additional water, ending hopes for a personal well for now though the endeavor proved worthwhile and left room for future attempts.

Railroad Won’t Extend Winner Line This Year

W. Bridgeman of Witten asked Chicago and Northwestern Railroad to extend the Winner line westward in 1922. President W H Finley replied on January 6 1922 the outlook is not encouraging enough for extensions this year citing a poor past year and uncertain prospects ahead.

Christmas Boxes Sent to Away Members by Wood C E Society

The Wood South Dakota Christian Endeavor Society mailed Christmas boxes to three members studying away: Miss Irene Hall at Spearfish S D and Virgil Foster with Wesley Stall at Tabor College Iowa. Letters from Foster and Stall express thanks and best wishes for 1922.

Adultery case ends in fines for two at Dallas

Wood Community Church Holds Annual Meeting

The Wood Community Church gathered at the Legion Hall in Wood for its annual meeting and oyster feast. Officers elected include J B Brown for two years, E B Brown as Clerk, A J Sinkler as Treasurer, Wood as Trustee, and E S Cleaver as Pianist, with the Ladies Aid Society electing F T Sinkler as President George Moore as Vice President Merrill Kaufmann as Secretary and Treasurer.
