Indian Convocation At Okreek Draws Sioux In August

In August 1922 several thousand Sioux Indians including Custer massacre descendants will gather at Okreek South Dakota for a Christianized convocation led by Rt Rev Hugh L Burleson. They will form a tepee city along Oak Creek with an open air tabernacle and a statement by Indian Affairs Commissioner C H Burke. The gathering marks the 100th anniversary of the Episcopal Missionary Society and showcases Indian progress over a century.

Local Farmers Share Crop Samples and Town News

Frank Sykora shows eight foot corn and eight foot five inch cane samples from forty and fifteen acre fields south of Wood. J D Fouch and family of Logan Iowa visit Mrs F S Richardson after auto tour through Colorado and Wyoming. County Agent A S Gray visits Wood on his weekly day, poisons a ten acre dog town, and inspects Orchard Ranch apple orchard where frost froze fruit this year though it remains a county show place.
