An Edwardsville agent for a Madison County association requests contributions to erect a memorial for President Lincoln's son. Names will be sent to secretary Hots O Match monthly, with funds collected at the agent's Edwardsville office. The Str. Lovers Dairy Press announces daily publication.
The Edwardsville community thanks Senator Yates and Representative Biker for favors. A market report notes a drop in dry goods prices since the last update. The German School Association of Edwardsville contributed $30 to buy apparatus for the public school building and will reinvest interest to benefit pupils. An oyster supper is planned at the Edwardsville court-house on March 29 to fund a church lot fence, with sewing society officers expressing gratitude for past support. Also lists grand and petit jurors appointed for the May circuit term.
The list records names of persons appointed by the assessor and approved by the county court to act as deputy assessors for 1866, with the territories to be assessed by each. It includes Eli That cigs, Geo. W. SOArcOy, David Kerley, L. BickSesse, J. A. Barnsback, John Bomner, S. O. BoWNer, I. B. Randle jun, Calvin Kinder, and Richard Holmes among others, with assignments like 8-5 and 4-5 and 6-7 noted.
