The Lexington Record announces monthly issues at one dollar per year with advertising at three dollars per inch for advance payment or four dollars per inch paid quarterly. It lists editorial aims and requests for church and charity reports from multiple local organizations including Christ Church Mission of the Good Shepherd, St. John's and First Presbyterian groups, and various women’s auxiliaries and missions.
The Ladies' Home Journal is advertised as the most complete family magazine, with a one year offer including The Record for 1.75. A children's education angle highlights Master John Scott's game of the Presidents and Cabinet, offered at reduced rates via The Record, emphasizing a widowed mother and a delicate boy in need of help.
The Charity Organization met in the Chamber of Commerce room at 4 o'clock. President Mat Walton and officers attended. The semi annual Treasurer's report showed healthy growth. subscriptions from the Opera House meeting were paid. Reports from the Lady Managers and Matron noted extensive charity work in six months. Donations invited and to be published with detailed accountability.
The Centenary Methodist Episcopal Church notes steady growth in services and Sunday School including a sixty member Epworth League. The Woman's Foreign Missionary Society with the Willing Workers raised 169, plus support for mountain preachers. A Pastor's Aid Society and ward committees aided the sick, poor, and needy, while a $50 collection aided the Protestant Infirmary and eleven subscribers to the Record.
About twenty newsboys and boot blacks gather daily at seven in the club room of the Carty building under Miss Thurman’s tuition. They spend one hour in study and another hour in games with Mrs John McFarland funding through Miss Florence Norton.
