Death of Mrs Moen of Lemmon and Fillmore County
Mrs Anna Higham Moen, born May 6 1888 in Fillmore County Minnesota, died November 1916 at home near Lemmon South Dakota after weeks of illness. She married Sam Moen October 3 1900 in Massau Minnesota. They lived in Massau before moving to Lemmon nine years ago. Six children were born, four daughters died in infancy, one son aged nine survives. She leaves a husband, a son, five sisters and four brothers and many friends in the city. The Herald extends sympathy.

Dakotan Travels 573 Miles in Coal Quest
M G De Lange cashier of the Farmers State bank of Marmarth N D traveled to Minneapolis 574 miles to obtain hard coal. Two Marmarth daughters are ill with typhoid fever. Officials sought rail help and assurances coal would be en route, as several towns along major lines reported coal shortages and waiting farmers eyed a Milwaukee line car shipment.

The Republican State Central Committee projected Wilson carrying California by more than four thousand votes based on county tabulations from fifty counties and semi official returns.
