Governor Vessey proclaims Thanksgiving Day for November 28 1912 in South Dakota aligning with the national observance. He emphasizes unity perseverance prosperity hospitality and gratitude across the state and notes the Great Seal of the State will bear witness to the proclamation.
Sunday afternoon burial for four year old Elmer Harold Ericksor after funeral services by Rev Hyiik. Parents Mr and Mrs Even Erickson live two miles east of the city. Elmer and Hoeffling boy found rat biscuits in an empty building then drank water. Hoeffling boy survived. Elmer died shortly after. Burial at local cemetery.
Twenty five members formed Lemmon Council No. 425 United Commercial Travelers of America after sessions ran into Sunday due to train lateness. J R Campbell led deliberations and installed officers. Peter A. Pitz Senior Counselor and L B Robinson Junior Counselor elected. Members express optimism for growth to forty and plan meetings including a Thanksgiving ball for Lemmon merchants and surrounding territory. Dakota Chapter C ES elected officers for the year and conferred ritual work. Worthy Matron Mrs I T Skiles and Worthy Patron W Raw named.
Attention farmers advertise about one hundred fifty milch cows for sale at the old Comstock ranch eight miles southeast of Lemmon. Cattle offered on time with small margin, promising herd growth and cream income. Also report of a Lemmon Creamery fire damage limited to parts of the structure, insured, with no serious disruption to operations.
