Death of Lemmon business leader Traugott Nickish
Traugott Nickish died Tuesday morning after a long illness caused by poisoning from embalming fluid. He founded Lemmon Furniture Co. and later Lemmon Hardware, served on Lemmon’s first village council, and supported city improvements. Born 1875 in Karlerohe, he emigrated to America with his family, built a successful Lemmon life and business, and leaves a widow Emi Frerking and five children plus relatives. Funeral services were held at the German Lutheran church and burial followed at Lemmon cemetery.
