Judge Carpenter Rules for Homesteader in Herd Law Case

Judge C C Carpenter overrules a demurrer in John H Lux v Robert M Kennedy, upholding the herd law on trespass by loose livestock. The ruling states fence laws do not shield careless owners from liability when stock roam to graze on another’s land, and that the trespass is a fact question for damages.

Geo W Egan to Speak in Lemmon Sunday

George W Egan will deliver his lecture The Trial and Crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth at the Armory in Lemmon Sunday evening. He planned a Sunday afternoon talk but moved it to evening to avoid clashing with The Messiah event at Reeder and to allow broader attendance.

Handel's Messiah at Reeder by Choral Society Sunday

A Reeder delegation invites Lemmon residents to hear Handel's Messiah performed by the Reeder Choral Society directed by GL Hyatt with guest artists. Soprano Theoline Leo-Skaug from Ipswich, contralto Edith Bergh of Hettinger, tenor Hjort, and bass J P Gross of Lemmon light the solo parts as the chorus presents the full oratorio. The concert is set for Sunday at 1:00 pm, and the program aims for a high success.
