Tuesday night marked the final closing of saloons under 1913 licenses in Lemmon. City commissioners will hear applications from A E Schaal Joe Casady and H O Duncan on Thursday to issue new licenses for the upcoming year.
Plans to re survey and replat the State Fair grounds redesign roads and buildings including Machinery Row and the main entrance. New exits and pedestrian routes will improve flow with a militia guarded automobile access and a check room information bureau near the entrance. A new mess hall will be built for the militia with gates opening September 4.
Enlargements equal to two new barns will be built on swine buildings. Jumping horse souvenirs of the State Fair will be mailed free to all boys and girls who request them of Secretary C N Mellone Huron. Send request by postal card or letter before they are gone.
Joe Beaton and H. M. Lee, formerly of the Payne and I. T. Skiles shop on South Main, have moved their auto repair and paint business to the Willey Brothers site, now the Carey and Wakefield Implement buildings on North Main opposite the old Round-Up Restaurant. The location sits on a busier route, promising good business.
