The Lemmon hog trade grows as multiple local firms buy and ship hogs weekly to eastern markets. Sawyer's Meat Market, run by Walter Sawyer, shipped its twelfth carload of hogs this past season, a carload of 86 hogs. The rapid rise in hog shipments from Lemmon astonishes observers not tracking regional changes.
Lemmon High School swept both games on Saturday night. The girls edged Hettinger 11 to 10 in a tight, hard fought contest. The Lemmon boys overwhelmed Little Missouri 40 to 17 with early scoring bursts and sustained pressure. Crowd turnout was large and the play featured notable turnovers and fouls amid a slippery court.
