Benjamin, a county auditor, died after a long illness. His family and many in the community recall his public service, religious ties, and active lodge involvement. The funeral will be held in Hartland with burial arranged at Alexandra, following services with the Masons present.
Father Frei returned from Rapid City after the twenty fifth anniversary ordination celebration of Rt. Rev. Bishop Jus. F. Busch. Diocesan delegates joined Holy Name Society members in a 1000-strong clergy parade and a reception at the Elk’s club. The bishop received a $3800 purse. a diocesan synod and three deanery districts were set up for clergy meetings.
Washington August 6 Mrs Woodrow Wilson wife of the President died this afternoon at 5 o clock in the White House. Earlier bulletins described two sinking spells and rallies under stimulants but doctors warned recovery unlikely and artificial respiration preserved life briefly. The official statement noted chronic kidney trouble and a brave fight though she remained unconscious after a slight improvement.
Deputy sheriff traced Robert Bronson after a bad check at Macomber Company store three months earlier. He fled, was sought from Aberdeen to Bison, found recently at Aberdeen, and brought to Semjor on Wednesday evening then to Bison on Thursday.
A 22 caliber rifle discharged while a man named Southworth was nearby in Perkins County. The bullet struck his abdomen during a rural incident while he was with neighbors harvesting. He died shortly after at his home. funeral arrangements moved to Wisconsin.

The Western Elevator Co bought 285 bushels of barley from A. L. Beasley, residing four miles northeast of Lemmon. The barley yielded excellent quality with 80 bushels per acre on the parcel. The article also notes forthcoming wheat yields and a subscription offer to the Herald and Dakota Farmer.
