Art Scholarships At Lee College Total Four $125

Four $125 art scholarships at Lee College were donated by Baytown residents Mr. and Mrs. James Harrop. Dean Walter Rundell announced the application requirements. Two scholarships will go to current Lee College art students based on this year's work. Freshman recipients must submit six original pictures and teacher recommendations plus a high school transcript. Applicants must be full time art majors or have art as their chief interest and have A grades in art with at least a C overall average. Applications due by June 2 to Dean Rundell or to Guy Johnson.

Lee College Faculty Map Summer Plans and Studies

Lee College faculty unveil summer plans including teaching assignments, vacations, and further study. Frank Kellogg aims for Vermont farm life and hay work, while Embry Wilson considers limited time off and Jack Carpenter will study at the University of Houston. Dean Announces Largest Graduating Class For Commencement

Dean Walter Rundell will preside as George Gentry awards diplomas at commencement on Friday June 6 with the baccalaureate June 1. Dr Sherman S Shaffer of Humble Oil Baytown ref inery will deliver the commencement address and Reverend M W Bulgerin will give the baccalaureate address. The list of prospective graduates includes Joyce Mae Alexander and many others.

All-School Picnic Set Before Graduation at Lyon Dell Park

Lee College plans its all-school picnic for Saturday May 31 from 9 30 a m to 2 p m at the Lyon Dell Park site now part of Texas Batadiene grounds. Student Council provides drinks. attendees bring lunches. faculty and families invited. freshmen and sophomores will play softball. events include a eating contest and bubble gum blowing. swimming free for park entrants. Alton Laird dean of student life leads planning for this annual spring term close activity.
