Registration for summer school is set for Wednesday June 6 with classes starting Thursday June 7 announced by Dean Walter Rundell. Schedules are available in the office for interested students. Courses include machines typewriting shorthand English literature and composition American government history psychology chemistry quantitative analysis college algebra beginning bookkeeping.
Dead Week begins May 15 and final exams start May 22. Grades due May 30 by 8 AM and mailed to students. Library books due May 23 for annual inventory. Graduation set for June 1 with forty six graduates.
A Lee College survey lists faculty summer plans with travel, teaching, and work. Names include Miss Niell, Miss Stern, Miss Hanna, Mrs Dix, Mr Ellis, Mr Miles, and others pursuing University of Texas or Houston programs, Navy duty, or local work.
Alvin H. Miles, chemistry instructor on the Lee College faculty since 1942, is appointed Assistant Dean by Dean Walter Rundell, effective in September. He will oversee administrative duties while teaching several classes next year to stay connected with students.
Teachers of vocational classes will arrange their schedule as all or a part of the final meeting but at a time that no students will have examinations conflicting with those on this schedule.
The 1951 Lee College graduating class will have baccalaureate services on May 27 and graduation exercises on June 1 at Memorial Stadium. Forty six students are listed by name including Kenneth O. The fall 1951 schedule lets Lee College operate from 8:00 am to 9:30 pm with options for morning or evening full loads. MWF classes run 8–9 pm and TT sessions 8–9:30, plus a 9:30–10:30 morning assembly period. The library will be open throughout and changes may follow summer reorganizations.
