Activities for the fifth annual Lee College Day on Friday April 2 include a 7 30 p m program and reception in the library. The program features a style show presenting 30 years of the college’s history with music from different periods. Former students will attend.
John A Laberee, manager of Du Pont Ex tension Division for the Southern District, discussed the economics curriculum and his shift from education to spearhead Du Ponts international public relations in 1954. He is Wesleyan University trained with Harvard study and a Paris degree.
Rice University anthropology assistant professor Dr Frank Hole will be the Lyceum speaker on March 18. He will discuss Finding the World’s First Farmers and his Iran fieldwork from 1961 to 1963 shaping early agriculture and civilization.
Mr Alton Laird is appointed Air Force ROTC program advisor at Lee College per acting president Walter Rundell. Students seek info in the Student Union. The ROTC Vitalization Act of 1964 allows junior college entrants to join advanced AF ROTC and compete for officer careers.
March events include Lyceum Assembly with Rice University professor Frank Hole and Phi Theta Kappa Banquet on March 1. Recital on March 21 features Tom Stone and Bruce Hanson. Western Week runs March 22 to 26 with faculty tea, barbecue, and dance. End of first nine weeks March 26. Reports mailed March 21. Lee College Day April 2. Easter Holidays April 15 to 22. Confederate Ball May 8.
