The Junior Achievement company sponsored by Lee College has launched a sales campaign with about 20 students printing note pads and personalized stationery. Pads come in 2.5 by 4 and 5 by 8 inches bearing Lee College, Lee High School, Sterling insignias or personalized. Sold at the student union book store. personalized orders taken there. Printing runs through April when the company will be liquidated for the year.
Lee College's Young Democrats held a meeting to discuss foreign policy amidViet Nam and Middle East concerns. An opinion poll on U S war policy found 55 percent reluctant to answer if they would pull out, 27 percent in favor of staying, and 18 percent for pullout. A second vote showed 54.5 percent backing continued bombing in North Vietnam, 45.5 percent opposing.
Princeton report shows journalism or prejournalism study rising for the eighth year in a row, with growth outpacing overall college enrollments. The Newspaper Fund, Inc. notes 24,445 students across 118 colleges are in journalism programs or prejournalism.
Jose Ainslie of Harris County Community Action urged Linus residents to push for water pressure improvements, street widening and paving, street lighting funded by the county, ditch elimination on Morelos Street, and stronger police protection. He works with Guadalupe Church president Gregory Juarez as local visitors included Sheriff Captain Bob Leonard, Health official W H Larrimer, and County Commissioner W V Ramsey.
