Fine Directing and Acting Elevate Hasty Heart at Lee College

The Curtain Club staged John Patrick's The Hasty Heart in a Southeast Asia ward setting at Lee College December 4 and 5. Cast members Melina Caruthers, Pete Kelley, Johnny Logan, John W Markham, Jim Smith, Wayne Chapman, and others delivered compassionate, convincing performances with strong accents and period atmosphere enhancing the play's humor and pathos.

Play Is Success At Lee College Production

The Little Theater of Pasadena praised Lee College for its Hasty Heart production saying it was the best they had ever seen. University of Houston official Mr. Robert Howery commended the play and the college's technical work and scenery design.

Election Will Fill Council Vacancy

The Student Council vacancy results from Vice-President Mike Schwendeman resigning due to work commitments. Sophomore Lee College students may obtain petitions from Dean Alton Laird, requiring twenty five signatures, due December 18, with voting the first Thursday and Friday after Christmas break.

Johnson Displays Abstracts Across Texas Art Exhibitions

Guy Johnson’s Beach a 4 by 6 inch abstract is featured in the 21st Annual Texas Painting and Sculpture Exhibition at the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts and travels to Houston San Antonio and Beaumont. He shows two large oils 4x5 and 4x6 in the Houston Artists Exhibit and two collages at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston’s Out of the Ordinary invitational.

Dean Walter Rundell joins Research and Service Commission

Dean Walter Rundell was appointed to the Commission on Research and Service during the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools meeting in Louisville Kentucky from November 30 to December 3. He noted excellent results and a constructive program focusing on rising enrollments selective admissions and better junior college teaching methods. The meeting also elected Dr Harry E Jenkins president of the association and admitted five colleges including Alvin Junior College Temple Junior College and Decatur Baptist Junior College.
