Cloud named LC president aiming to implement board policy
Dr. Robert Cloud, acting president since Dr. Jim Sturgeon’s resignation, is named president of LC after the Board of Regents offered a contract. Cloud, Dean Instruction-Vice President, stated the primary duty is implementing board policy and managing the college, while delegating tasks but retaining final responsibility.

Four new LC nursing instructors named for associate degree program
Lee College hires four new nursing instructors Paulette Hauerland Katherin Sudela Betty Daniel and Mary Thiel to strengthen the associate degree program. Hauerland holds a BS from Incarnate Word College and has worked at multiple hospitals in Texas. Sudela with a UT BS has served at Ben Taub and San Jacinto College. Daniel brings four years as staff nurse at Methodist and Bellaire General with a UNM BS. Thiel resident of Friendswood is completing an MS in nursing from Texas Woman's University with a Stanford BS and has worked at Houston Methodist Hospital.

Three to vie in SG run-off
Three freshmen candidates drew equal votes in the Freshman Senator Election creating a run-off for the tenth seat. Janie Davis Rhonda Dunn and Sandra Larsen competed with results pending at press time. The nine freshmen and ten sophomores elected are listed with a dance announcing results on September 17. A pro tem will be appointed to fill the vice president vacancy. The LC Blood Drive was discussed at a noon meeting on September 21.
