Travel funds intact as fuel costs rise on campus
The college expects no travel cut despite higher fuel prices thanks to budget cushions. A 5 cent per gallon federal tax hike increases bulk fuel to 1.28, with a 1989-90 usage review planned for 1990-91. Last year 8279 gallons cost 64.96 cents per gallon, totaling 5378.59, while officials warn costs may rise further and departments face higher per-mile charges.
