Rebels Face Tough Conference Season Despite Weather Delays
Coach Richard Smith of Lee College foresees one of the conference’s top baseball teams despite repeated rain outs canceling practices and scrimmages. The Rebels regret a washed out scrimmage against San Jacinto Ravens, last year’s No. 2 national team, whose experience makes them formidable. Pitching, aided by student coaches Mark Copeland and Charlie Corbell, forms the core of future success as the team emphasizes learning the strike zone. A recent win over McNeese State University adds momentum to the Rebels season.
