Graduation ceremony honors LC 1983 graduates and nursing pinning
The 1983 graduates will receive degrees at 7 30 p m May 19 in the gymnasium. The LC nursing department will hold a nursing associate degree pinning at 7 30 p m May 18 in Rundell Hall. The ceremony will award scholarships and Rundell Award to the top male graduate. No commencement speaker. Ed Moak to present most awards. Nursing pinning includes top academic standing, Student Nurse Organization or Red Cross honors.

Whose Life Is It Anyway presented by LC drama department
The Laboratory Theater hosts Brian Clarks Whose Life Is It Anyways May 6 7 12 and 13 at 8 p.m. Admission is free to LC students and $3 for others. The play centers on euthanasia and a quadraplegic man seeking to die with a lawyer taking the case.

Deaf awareness activities slated at Lee College
Six Lee College interpreter training students will join Deaf Awareness Week events through Saturday. Performances start 11 a.m. Wednesday in Moser Hall and 11 a.m. Saturday at San Jacinto Mall near Penny’s and Command Performance. Cindy Cochran will sing while trainees sign songs like Heart Attack Mickey and You Needed Me. Participants include Lisa Bacon Doug Dutfurth Dianne Dooley Kay Parisi Mary Kemp and Debbie Kinsey. Additional shows are planned for Lee High School deaf education and Highlands Elementary hearing impaired students.

Students test athletic skills in campus Super Star finals
On LC campus, trained athletes and amateurs competed in the Super Star Competition finals on April 20. Six events were offered with contestants choosing four. Events included softball throw, 50 yard dash, standing long jump, basketball free throw, weight lifting, military press, and 25 yard swim, with an obstacle course concluding. Benny Moskowitz noted scoring was based on total points across events and prizes were Super Star T shirts for top two in both men’s and women’s divisions.

Phi Theta Kappa Accepts 44 LC Members in Honorary Society
The Zeta Nu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa inducted 44 LC students into membership. Eligible students must carry 12 credit hours and maintain a 3.5 GPA. Inductees include Maria Acton Jill Adair Abdullah Al Amri Yacoub Al Saeed and others.
