Jordan likely to die. Ed Owens recovery doubtful. At Midway in Bamberg County, John Bessinger mortally wounded, Crender shot in head, Crum Smoak bruised, and Smoaks involved in the clash. The fray began with Bessinger and Jack Smoak. Crant and Merriam Simoak joined with revolvers as tensions escalated.
